"Well it is finally P-day for me here at the MTC!!! Woohoo! It really is great to have some time without rushing from one place to another. So my district is all going to Jacksonville! We have three elders and eight sisters!! Crazy right?! I was expecting that it would be SOOO busy here, which it is, but they schedule everyone so differently with meal times and everything that it's really not that bad. The cafeteria isn't nearly as bad as I expected. But there were 700 new missionaries who came the same day as me last week. Some of my district already ran into another district going to Jacksonville also, so it sounds like our plane ride will have a lot of Jacksonville missionaries. I love my district and my companion. My companion's name is Sister Parke. She's from Idaho and is 21. She went to BYU before coming out on her mission and was studying public health. She is so nice and just a perfect girl. The three elders in my district are Elder Moose (district leader), Elder Collett (zone leader) and Elder Tubbs (zone leader). They're all pretty great. We also have an elder who is going to OKC and should have left last week with the other districts in our zone, but he has to have surgery to have his gallbladder removed and then he will leave the MTC. The sisters in our zone are Sister Parke and I, Sister Smedley and Sister Conley (they kill me they're so funny. They're our roomates and we all just speak in southern accents.), Sister Beacham and Sister Martinez, and Sister Phelon (pronounced fellin') and Sister Hutchins. Sister Hutchins and I are basically second companions because our companions are sister training leaders who basically just welcome the new districts and help them out. Everyone in our district is so fun. I am so excited to go to Jacksonville! Although I really enjoy the MTC, the first few days feel like weeks. When it was finally lunch time I could have sworn that it was time for dinner.
I live in one of the nicest buildings and my classes are held in one of the nicest buildings as well. The leather chairs are super comfortable. It's really fantastic. When I came in, my host sister said that I must have done something really great in the pre-existance because I had the best places to stay for my two weeks here in the MTC. It's amazing how much can happen in just a short week! Dad, it is so good to here that your collar bone isn't broken! But.. you told Critt that you would go on the high adventure!? That worried me a little bit when I read that. Don't push it too much! Mitch, I'm so sorry to here about your emergency room visit. I hope everything is going well. Sam, I think my password is sophie. I'm trying to think of the buttons I would push on a phone and it's hard to think without a phone in front of me. I believe the first number is 7. Anyway, I apologize in advance for how rushed this letter may be. Sister Parke and I have laundry going so we need to rush down to the laundry room once our time runs out on the computers. Mom, our flight leaves from the SLC airport at 7:15 am to Atlanta Georgia. We then have a layover in Atlanta for an hour before taking another flight to Jacksonville. So.. I'm not exactly sure when you should expect a call from me. Probably around 6 or 6:30 ish?? (I just saw Kimmy Tribe walk past. I've seen so many people I know here. Jocelyn King left yesterday. I haven't seen Sister Sheffield yet though! :( I think she's on west campus and I'm in the main MTC).
So our branch president's name is President Wenn. I really want to take a picture with him before I go. He is such a great President. He expects a lot of us, but that is definitely good because we can always improve ourselves. He is about five feet tall. He's way short but he is the coolest guy. AAAHHH!! I thought I would have more time!! I have two more minutes! ONe thing that one of the counselors told us was that obedience brings blessings and exact obedience brings miracles. I lvoe that!! Anyway!! There is so muc more that I could tell you!! We had TRC where paid actors act as our investigators. They're in a room and we knock on the door just like it were their house. Sister Parke and I had a sassy Southern black woman named Lawanna. She was extremely difficult to get through to. She did not want anything to do with us. But we got through. she's awesome. Well, I have to run! Love you all, McCall"
